A Few Free Things To Do
So you’ve been in Eugene for a while now (at least two weeks), and on more than one occasion you have found yourself wondering “what is there to do in this town?” Or, more specifically, what is there to do that doesn’t cost anything? Well, you are in luck. Here are four free things happening in the month of February:
- The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art is located on the U of O campus. As a college student, you can sign up for free membership, which gets you free admission any time the doors are open. Or you can just go on the first Friday of the month when admission is always free.
- The Beall Concert Hall is also on the U of O campus and hosts several free concerts each month. The first one in February will be in the Emerging Artist Series on February 2nd, at 1 pm.
- Georgies Ceramic & Clay Co. is a bit farther away (1471 Railroad Blvd #9), but every Saturday from 10-2 they offer free demonstrations that will give you a chance to explore new art forms.
- The Roving Park Players will bring classic literature to life with a new stage adaptation of Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park. Performances are at 7:00 pm on February 13, 14, 15, 16 & 20, 21, 22, 23 at Good Samaritan Center, 3500 Hilyard St, Eugene. Like the other events, admission is free.
