In the Interest of Invigorating Instances

On behalf of myself and the Beacon Bolt, we would like to welcome all students and faculty back to campus. The new semester is a chance for a fresh start, and we are excited to see where it takes us. For the Bolt, this new semester has brought a new perspective, a change in staff, and excitement for new friends. In honor of the new year, we have taken this opportunity to each write a poem to start this semester off right.

“Gold.
Shiny and rich;
The color of new.
Of wealth,
Of opportunity.
In flakes or in future.
A picture of desire.
Fresh and pristine;
Days reflect the gold.
What is needed,
For the enjoyment?
A fresh perspective.
A promise of adventure.
So much to be had,
Yet to be unearthed
Not tired.
Not beaten.
Anxiously in wait,
For all to come.”

-Alyssa Perovich

“The trees are bare
The air is sharp
The students are back
But so is the dark

The second semester is upon them
And with the dark comes the light
For there is hope in the air
As the chance of snow is fair
And with the snow comes an action that is polite
For it is Greg Brock!
And his decision to cancel school is a delight”

For those of you who don’t know, Greg loves to cancel school if there is snow. So, you can count on him to be on your side.

-Tomas Carradero

We can’t wait to share in all that the new semester will bring us and are so grateful for the support shown to us thus far.
