You Don’t Have To Go It Alone…
In honor of Alcohol Awareness Week at Northwest Christian University, Student Programs will be hosting a “Float and Facts” gathering in the cafeteria on Thursday, October 27 at 12 PM. According to Student Programs Coordinator Taylor Irons, the event aims to increase awareness of substance abuse in the United States. “The purpose of the root beer floats is to bring awareness to the problem of alcohol abuse,” said Irons, a sophomore, “and we are trying to create a welcoming environment for people to talk about a subject that is often brushed off.”
Root beer floats with facts about alcohol abuse printed on the cup will be served at the event, and students will have a chance to discuss the harmful effects of substance abuse.
If you or some you know is struggling with alcohol abuse, please don’t hesitate to contact staff in the Office of Student Life, or one of many community resources in the Eugene area that are available to help.
