Stressed? Go Explore Eugene This October

It’s almost mid-semester and it might be time to get out and have some fun this October to relieve a little stress and change up your normal weekend routine of studying, eating Burrito Boy and watching Netflix. Here are some of the upcoming events around Eugene and a few surrounding areas.

  1. Emerald Valley Comic Fest 2015

Description: Emerald Valley Comic Fest is Eugene, Oregon’s 1st comic con in over 20 years!   The fest includes 2 days of activities such as vendors, artists, costume contests, panels, celebrities, crafts, gaming and more!

When: Oct 03 – Oct 04

$$: General Admission Saturday $20 and Sunday $15, while a weekend pass is $25

  1. Jesus Christ Superstar

Description: This energetic rock musical has at its center a religious leader who is a social and political rebel, Jesus.

When: Oct 02 – Oct 25 Recurrence: Thursday – Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 2:30 p.m.

  1. The Frightuary – Haunted House at Lane Events Center

Description: The people who brought you Cottage Grove’s Severed Armory have now created a massive haunted attraction in Eugene! Be spooked, be scared, be prepared.

When: Oct 02, 2015-Nov 1 (Thursday, 7-10 p.m. (Except the 29th 7-11 p.m.) ; Friday & Saturday, 7- 11 p.m.; (Expect Oct. 31st 7-Midnight and November 1st 7-11 p.m.) Full Schedule in link above.

$: $12.00, but $1.00 off for students and military and Food For Lane County night is Thursday, October 15th, where you can bring in up to 3 canned or non-perishable food items, and receive a discount of up to $3.00 off of general admission. You cannot combine discounts.

  1. SoMo with Jordan Bratton & Kirko Bangz Concert

Description: Joseph Anthony Somers-Morales, SoMo, is an American R&B singer and songwriter. The 28 year old Texan is most known for his songs, “Ride” and “Show Off.” Jordan Bratton, also an R&B singer and songwriter, was recently spotlighted in TeenVogue as “the Music Scene’s Next Rising Star.” Kirk Jerel Randle, Kirko Bangz, is an American rapper, singer, and record producer signed to Atlantic Records.

When: Wednesday, October 14 at 7:45 p.m.

$$: General Admission is $23

  1. Matthew West Ft. Francesca Battistelli and special guest Mr. Talkbox Concert

Description: Matthew West is an American Contemporary Christian musician and actor. The 38 year old has released five studio albums and is most known for his songs “More”, “You Are Everything”, and “The Motions.” Francesca Battistelli is an American Christian musician, singer-songwriter, and recording artist who is most known for “Holy Spirit.” Byron “Mr Talkbox” Chambers is known through his work with Tobymac, Group 1 Crew and Martha Munizzi. As co-writer and performer on Tobymac’s “Diverse City”, Byron quickly became known as “Mr Talkbox” to Christian music fans worldwide.

When: Saturday October 17th. Doors open at 6 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m.

$$: General Admission is $25, but if you buy in groups of 10 or more the tickets are $20 each
