Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Hey Everyone! For Martin Luther King Jr. Day the Beacon Bolt decided not to post an article, and to celebrate the wonderful meaning behind the day instead! Today I would just like to write a quick thank you about the man who has inspired so many people and accomplished amazing things in his lifetime.

Martin Luther King Jr. was an outstanding civil rights activist who led many boycotts and freedom marches and often put his life on the line for what he believed in. He is famous for writing and performing one of the most powerful speeches of all time, “I Have a Dream”.

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

I hope that everyone can take the time to watch the video of the speech and reflect on how far we have come since then, and how far we still must go.

Free at last! Free at last!

Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!
