Resolution Ramblings

Well, 2014 is two weeks old now. If you made any New Year’s resolutions, I would like to offer you encouragement. Even if you haven’t completely stuck with it so far, there are still 50 more weeks in the year. Now is not the time to give up. But maybe you don’t make New Year’s resolutions at all. Maybe you’re more like me and instead spent some time considering the fact that, technically, the night between December 31st and January 1st is no different than any other. Besides, of course, the change in the last digit of the date, but that’s not really significant enough to base huge life changes on. Thankfully, Peanuts comics have asked and answered all of the important questions:

So there you have it. If that’s not a good reason to make some resolutions, I don’t know what is. Of course, that still doesn’t mean I actually made any. Instead, I read this post, and took the quiz, and now I have a nifty wallpaper on my computer that keeps me thinking about my long-term goals. That’s basically the same thing, I think. My point is, whatever approach you take with New Year’s resolutions, I hope 2014 will be a year filled with achieved goals. Which is actually just my way of saying “Happy New Year!”
